When Skyy FC qualified to the National Division One league in 2017, little were those who thought a team as that young had any impact to make. The team took the 2017/2018 season by surprise with scintillating performances from young and ambitious players ready to take the world by storm.

The team was third behind New Edubiase and Goldstars on the DOL Zone 2 table before the Anas Expose which eventually led to the truncation of the season.

In the Normalization Committee’s Special Tournament, Skyy FC topped the Zone 2B with 34 points, joint highest in the whole country.

Having achieved this in this short time, stakeholders of the team looked forward to the 2019/2020 season with a lot of hope and optimism.

The technical team led by Abdul Malik Mohammed has been tasked to do very well in this season but many are those who believe that the team can top the zone 2 and secure qualification to the Ghana Premier League.

The 2019/2020 season has been a very tough campaign but the team is on course. In week one, Skyy played as guests to Bibiani Goldstars in a game which ended 0:0 and played Swedru All Blacks at home in week two, won by 2 goals to nil and then traveled to Sameraboi where the team recorded its first defeat of the season.

Matchday 4 saw Skyy hosting Pacific Heroes in a very tough encounter with the home team winning the match 2:0. The Sekondi Stadium hosted Hasaacas vs Skyy in matchday 5, a game which ended in a scoreless draw. At the ST Martin’s park in Daboase, Bekwai Youth Football Academy held Skyy to a gooless draw in week 6 while Skyy beat Asokwa Deportivo 2:1 at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi in week 7. The week 8 saw Skyy hosting Star Madrid and beating them by a lone goal.

Skyy FC are third on the log, 4 points adrift the top. The team will host New Edubiase on sunday in week 9. Morale in camp is high as the playing body is determined to beat Edubiase to keep competition at the top very tight.

The hopes of securing a premiership slot is on and everyone at the club is working hard towards making it a reality. The Eagles are ready to soar.
