The much anticipated tough encounter between Skyy FC and New Edubiase failed to produce a goal after 90 minutes of soccer action at the ST Martin’s park at Daboase
The home side started on a bright note with some attacking runs in the first 10 minutes but could not get anything out of it. The Yenko Nkoaa boys relied heavily on experience in keeping the Skyy attack at bay. The away team warmed themselves up into the game with confidence and self belief and by the 30th minute, they were the better side controlling the midfield and using the long balls to cause damage, however they were judiciously dealt with by the Skyy defense line marshaled by John Asmah and Paul Ennin.
What appeared to be a clear penalty in the 34th minute after Edubiase defender pushed Sani Ibrahim down in the box was waived by the center referee.
In the Second half, the home team came in strong, creating clear goal scoring chances yet they failed to find the back of the net. In the 54th minute, a quick 1,2 pass between Benjamin Dacosta and Francis Oteng set the latter up on a one v one situation with the goalkeeper but the final kick which beat the goalkeeper hit the woodwork.
Shaibu Tahiru was shown red card in the 78th minute after stepping on on an opponent.
With the introduction of Ankobeah and Ebenezer Ocran, the home team dominated the game with a man down, created good chances but could not make the chances count.
Skyy have dropped to fourth position on the league table after Hasaacas won against Achiken at home. We play Unistar Academy in Cape Coast on wednesday in match week 10.
